I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison
This book is actually a collection of short stories by Harlan Ellison. All are sci-fi based in a sense. Some realm of reality on one or two as well. They are mind binding and have an significant meaning through out each of them. He writes stories that just get inside your head.
Read this book, don’t even question it if you don’t like sci-fi or not. This book will take you to a different world and make you think.
Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown
I’ll make it sweet and simple, the book is about focusing your efforts on only the essentials. Get rid of all the other things in life that are taking your time.
Very good book, highly recommend. I honestly went into it thinking, I wouldn’t like it but I loved it. The examples and the stories all tied together perfectly. I recommend everyone read this book! So many things I learned and grew from this book. I honestly took my time with it because of how much I got from it. I spent 4 days on it. So I could truly digest it all.
Candide by Voltaire
A satire of a book. About a young man that grows up with the belief instilled by his tutor, all will be well. Things change as he travels the world and all sorts of disasters happen to him and his companions, testing his beliefs.
I think it’s a good read. Shouldn’t be rushed as I would probably say I did. I think its not for everyone. I do recommend it but I think there are quite a few books to read before diving into this one to fully appreciate it.
